The Situation
To win a contract with a Fortune 50 company, P3 had to pass that company’s third-party risk assessment process, which required demonstrating either SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance. Given the international nature of P3’s business, ISO 27001 was the better long-term fit — but a standard ISO 27001 certification process typically takes 6–8 weeks, far longer than the window available for this deal.
